Euro 2016

After waiting for 4 long years, the EURO Cup is back again! From June 10th to July 10th, this Football event will gather 24 teams to compete for the Euro Championship title, in France. The 15th edition of this great tournament will begin on Friday, 10th of June at 9pm (3am in China) with France vs. Romania. Even though there is a significant time difference, some of the games will start in the afternoon (around 9 or 10pm in China), which still gives you an opportunity to support your favorite team(s). For this EURO Cup, as well as for the World Cup and most of International Sport events, the atmosphere promise to be wild and electric here in Shanghai. As a matter of fact, here is a list of some of the bars in Shanghai where you can be sure to have a great time while watching the games:

  • The Wishbone:

    The Wishbone is one of the places with the best promotions yet. All the game will be broadcasted on their brand new projector screen and no entrance fee will be asked. Furthermore, there will be a late menu allowing you to grab a bite with your beer (sandwich, chicken wings, dirty fries, etc.). Finally, the Boxing Cat Contender (Beer) will be at 35RMB, the Jameson shot at 15RMB, and you will be given the wishbone black card which allows you a lifetime discount on every alcohol drinks and specials when scan its QR code. No need to say, that you should definitely go there at least once during the EURO.

  • Sasha’s:

    Sasha’s bar is going to be one of the best places to be for this tournament. A tent will be set outside of the bar with a huge screen broadcasting every game of the competition. The entry fees are:-100RMB for a standing ticket and 1 liter of Heineken OR 2 standard drinks-200RMB for a seated ticket and 1 liter of Heineken OR 2 standard drinksNo need to go to a stadium, Sasha’s bar is the place where you want to go to.   • JZ Latino in Renaissance Yu Garden Hotel and 8 Art Hotel on the Bund:

    The “Great Sports” Channel will be presenting and broadcasting the Euro games with some of the players of Shanghai Football team on their side. You will be able to enjoy the games while listening to the comments and views of specialists in Football. The entry fees are:-JZ Latino Renaissance Yu Garden: 198RMB/person with unlimited Carlsberg
    -8 Art Hotel: 168RMB/person OR 268RMB/groups of 2 people

  • The Camel:

    The Camel Sport’s Bar is already famous for broadcasting all the major sports events; therefore you can be sure that every game of the EURO will be on screen. Except for the most important games, no entrance fee will be asked. However for the other ones, you will have to pay 100RMB which gives you 3 drinks when coming in the bar.

  • Big Bamboo:

    The Big Bamboo will welcome you for very game of the EURO Cup. The entrance fee will be 100RMB including 2 standard drinks.

  • Tap House:

    Every game will be broadcasted at the Tap House and no entrance fee will be asked. Furthermore, there will be a “buy 2, get the 3rd one for free” promotion on selected beers.

  • The Spot:

    The Spot will broadcast every game without any entrance fee or special promotions.

  • Cages:

    The Cages will be broadcasting the games on the 40 TVs installed in the bar, however you should check on their website first in case of change of schedule. No entrance fee will be asked at the entrance.

  • The Shed:

    You should check the website first in case of changes in the schedule but other than that, the Shed staff won’t ask you for an entrance fee and there won’t be any special promotion since the beer is already quite cheap.

  • Shanghai Brewery Hengshan Lu & Shanghai Brewery Hongmei Lu:

    The Shanghai Brewery will broadcast some of the games but you should call them before just to make sure;

In the end, whether you are a Football fan or not, you’ll still be able to enjoy a cold draft beer, sing along national anthems with friends and meet new people, so why not try it?
